Sports Time Out with Guest: Evan Pingel

Sports Time Out sat down with Evan Pingel, OHS head golf coach, to discuss the current golf season, as well as his career and coaching journey to this point. Coach Pingel has helped grow the golf program and has coached multiple state qualifiers over the past couple of years. This season, Ayden Williams qualified for the state tournament once again. The interview covered that accomplishment and much more. Thanks again to Coach Pingel for his time.

Sports Time Out with Guest: Justin Mefferd

Sports Time Out sits down with Justin Mefferd, W-N’s head boys basketball coach, to discuss the Tigers’ past season. Mefferd took over for Bill Hughes and, in his first season, led the Tigers to a district championship. He was also named District Coach of the Year. Thanks to Coach Mefferd for his time.

This week, Sports Time Out sits down with OHS head track and field coach Kinly Grubb to talk about her first season taking over for Mark Thomas. Kinly is also an Odessa graduate of 2018. This week STO sits down with Coach Rob Waibel. Coach Waibel is a huge member of the Odessa community recently receiving the chamber of commerce’s lifetime achievement award and key to the city of Odessa. Coach Waibel has also coached at Odessa as well as a state champion football player at Booneville. Thanks so much to Coach Waibel for his time!!!

This week we sit down with Samara Sims, who is a senior member of the Drury Cheer team and a former OHS cheerleader. Samara recently competed at National in Orlando, Florida and placed seventh out of 21 team. She is finishing her final year at Drury and it was so great to do a podcast with her. This week Sports Time Out features guest Brea Ellis, OHS head cheer coach and former OHS cheerleader. Brea and the OHS cheer team is competing January 30 at Nationals in Orlando, Florida.
