In this discussion, the often misunderstood role of Human Resources (HR) within organizations is explored. For example, while it’s emphasized that HR is commonly viewed as an advocate for employees, its primary responsibility is to protect and support the interests of the company. This includes managing legal compliance, reducing organizational risk, handling hiring and termination processes, and maintaining workplace policies.
Its secondary agenda, is to provide valuable support to employees through conflict resolution, benefits administration, training, and workplace development. However, employees/contractors should recognize HR’s loyalty ultimately lies with organizational goals and leadership decisions.
