Why I Am Starting This Podcast
Trailer
Welcome to the very first episode of Chronicle Truth. Host Dr. Abigail Muchecheti (Abi) introduces the podcast as a new space to discuss race, gender, disability, belonging, and "whatever comes up along the way". In this episode, Dr. Abi explains why she is moving from writing to speaking, even when it feels scary. She discusses: Why writing has been her "survival" and "resistance". Her experience as a Black, disabled woman being shut out of conferences, panels, and networking spaces. How exclusion can feel silencing and the pressure to "shrink" or "translate" herself. How this podcast is an act of "refusing silence" and creating a space where she and others can find their voices. This episode is an honest, unscripted introduction to a podcast dedicated to those who are tired of being told to wait, soften, or assimilate.
