George holds a Bachelor of Science degree in History from the Univ. Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University.

George has written extensively about US manned spaceflight, including the Apollo and space shuttle programs. His work has appeared in the New York Times, the New Scientist, and a variety of other science and technology publications. He is also the author of “Calculated Risk- The Life and Supersonic Times of Gus Grissom” which was published in hardback by Purdue University Press in 2016. A paperback edition was released in 2019.
