Is there more to Pride month than rainbows and parades? In this episode, we explore movements and activism that led to the modern day Pride movement. From the birth of the homophile movement that produced LGBTQ organizations fighting for change, such as The Mattachine Society and The Daughters of Bilitis, we uncover the roots of resistance that led to Stonewall and beyond. We emphasize that Pride is more than commercial celebrations—it's a form of resistance and radical self-love. We explore the spiritual interconnectedness of all movements grounded in liberation and discuss how queer liberation relates to liberation for Palestine and all who are oppressed. We highlight Palestinian resilience and discuss the concept of revolutionary optimism.
