Cultivating Courage Session 2
Cultivating Courage: Liberating the Healthcare Worker Voice is a peer to peer curriculum made to build the necessary collective power and courage among healthcare workers and student to resist structural violence, such as the genocide in Gaza. This is a project of SANAD: Solidarity network of doctors and healthcare workers. This projected started in direct response to the repression of healthcare workers and students who have spoken out against the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza and Palestine. This is the second session in a five-course curriculum. Session two, Legacies of Violence in U.S. Healthcare, articulates the ways in which U.S. health systems have been an integral part of upholding racism and colonialism, both historically and today. Led directly by healthcare workers and students, this session also walks the audience through how to identify individual level, structural, and institutional violence in U.S. healthcare systems so that they can prepare to address and disrupt that harm. Just like all our sessions, this curriculum will also articulate the unique perspective healthcare workers can bring to social movement and structural violence.
