Intervention and Management of MSDs
Sakinah and Lerato conclude their triad of talks about Motor Speech Disorders with an insight into management and intervention of dysarthria and apraxia. The intervention approaches explored in the episode are mainly restorative and compensatory. Additionally, intervention is viewed from a holistic perspective with special considerations for the individual’s specific context through the addition of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). Furthermore, intervention strategies are explored in both a multi-disciplinary team, as well as a caregiver and patient-centred perspective for home carryover.
