Violet finds herself a fugitive, suspected of stealing Pokemon. In truth, she is recovering after a building falling on her and she has lost most her Pokemon. Thanks to the aid of Shiro, Hanako, and some new friends, she fends off Team Rocket and the stranger and ends up with a new Pokemon before heading off to try and win against Lt. Surge.

Meanwhile, Murasaki and Beck try to escape the haunted Pokemon Tower and find search for a way to get Murasaki is long sought after Gengar. Ghosts, bullies, and wild Pokemon make for a difficult journey.

And throughout it all we begin to get a backwards glimpse into Hanako's journey leading filling in some of the gaps of where she's been and her goals of finding proof that there is an Ekans of a different color in the world.
