At seventeen, Herb Baker drove 16mm film from Houston to the airport twice a day so ABC could broadcast Apollo footage from NASA to audiences around the world. He spent more than four decades at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, working in television production, communications, and the documentation of human spaceflight. Herb Baker is a retired NASA manager and 42-year agency veteran who worked at Johnson Space Center, Kennedy Space Center, and NASA Headquarters.
