This week we studied through Ecclesiastes 7:15-22. Solomon teaches two foundational truths from wisdom that teach us how to live. The first is that wisdom leads you to trust God. Life doesn't always make sense, and Solomon speaks to this. You can do the right things and yet life will be cut off short while others who live wickedly see a long life of prosperity. Eliphaz in Job 4 showed a hope in the fear of God and what He did. His hope was not in God alone. Sometimes you can do all of the right things like Job, and still have bad things happen. Hope in the length of days is a misplaced hope, hope in the plan and not in God who put the plan together. Maybe you do not understand, but your responsibility is not to understand.
