Mark 15:26-32 - Cross Examination

Episode notes

At the cross, Jesus endured humanity's final verdict against Him. The inscription, "The King of the Jews," intended as a charge of mockery, proclaimed a deeper truth than Pilate or the crowd understood. Religious leaders, passersby, and even the criminals crucified beside Him united in ridicule, demanding that He come down from the cross to prove His identity. Yet the greatest evidence that Jesus is the Son of God was not that He refused to stay on the cross, but that He refused to come down. In enduring shame, fulfilling Scripture, and bearing the curse of sinners, Christ demonstrated that His kingdom would be established not by escaping suffering, but by conquering sin through it. The cross reveals that God's verdict outweighs man's, and the One condemned by the world is vindicated as the true King and Savior of all who believe.
