The Blue Zones and the "Power 9" Lifestyle "Blue Zones" are geographically defined regions characterized by an exceptionally high concentration of centenarians who live long, healthy lives. The five original Blue Zones identified by Dan Buettner and demographic researchers are Okinawa (Japan), Sardinia (Italy), Nicoya (Costa Rica), Ikaria (Greece), and Loma Linda (California).
