Episode notes

Sean’s drinking began at an early age as a means of “relieving stress” and “taking away the pain.” It would become his lifestyle for the next 30+ years. At 15, he became a gang member on Chicago’s south side. That gave him the sense of acceptance, friendship, and love that he longed for at home. He watched numerous friends gunned down, had a brother take his own life, experienced a total of 10 years incarcerated, lost two marriages and his children. Sean has been sober since September 6, 2019 and is working toward his mother’s dream that he become a preacher or drug counselor. His life is now about God, recovery, and giving to others.
