Episode notes
Tara advises that we “play the tape through”, meaning before making a choice look at the possible results. Her first marriage was where she started drinking for fun which turned into drinking for survival. Experiencing repeated domestic violence, mental abuse, and the “nobody will ever want you now” speech, Tara had lost all self-worth and replaced it with co-dependency and depression. That allowed the darkness to move in and made God’s light difficult to see. Her battle was real. Today, her faith is far bigger than her fear in the same way that her will for recovery is stronger than her addiction.
