Photovoice & the Future of Trucking | Nemo Nation with Dave Nemo, Jimmy Mac & Dr. Laurel Smith-Doerr

RadioNemo Guest Interviews by RadioNemo

Episode notes

On this edition of Nemo Nation, hosts Dave Nemo and Jimmy Mac welcome Dr. Laurel Smith-Doerr, Professor of Sociology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Dr. Smith-Doerr is leading a groundbreaking study on trucking, automation, and the future of work. Through a method called Photovoice, truck drivers are invited to share their photos and stories about technology on the job. The goal? To put drivers’ perspectives at the center of conversations about automation and the future of trucking.

Drivers of all kinds are invited to participate in this confidential study, with $150 compensation for two Zoom sessions. By joining in, you’ll help ensure that policymakers, unions, and companies understand the real benefits and risks of automation from the driver’s perspective.
