The First Italian Driver In SIXTY Years!!

Race Rundown by Becks

Episode notes

Antonelli started 19th. He won the race. At his home Grand Prix. I still don't fully believe it. I've watched a lot of F1 races and I don't say this lightly Monza just gave us one of the great drives. Antonelli takes an engine penalty, gets buried at the back of the grid, and somehow ends up standing on top of the podium three hours later, in front of the Tifosi, as the first Italian to win at Monza since 1966.

And it wasn't even simple once he got to the front. He had to take the win off his own teammate, George Russell, with the title race hanging in the balance. Meanwhile, Ferrari, at their own home race watched Leclerc go straight into the barriers on lap two.
