For years, they turned "DEI" into a slur meaning "unqualified, only here because of race or gender," and aimed it at accomplished people — Kamala Harris (DA, state AG, senator, VP), Ketanji Brown Jackson, Ilhan Omar. An accusation of unearned advantage, pointed at people who'd earned everything.
