Welcome to the start of season 2! To get us started this season, we have a great interview with Michael Brandon Clark. Michael B. Clark (he/they) is a public health development professional with a deep commitment to social justice and community empowerment. Their academic and professional journey has been driven by a lifelong affiliation with the experiences of marginalized communities, particularly around issues of queer migration, harm reduction, and global health. Michael attended the University of Portland in the early 1990's! During their interview, they talk about their time as a young gay man at UP, their experiences with ROTC, and the intersections of cultural, sexual, and spiritual contexts and development in their life.
Season 1
Not a lot of overlap? An interview with Jesper
Our second interview, and the final interview of our pilot season (don't worry, we've got a full slate of episodes planned for season 2!) is with Jesper! Jesper is a recent alum of UP ('24) where he majored in Environmental Science and minored in Spanish. Jesper was the vice president of Gender and Sexuality Partnership, and involved in a range of undergraduate research. Jesper can often be found at Forest Park studying plants.
Celebrate Queerness: an Interview with Fabi
Welcome to the inaugural episode of Queerness in the Shadow of the Holy Cross! We're delighted you're joining us. For our first episode, we interview Fabi, a recent graduate of the University of Portland (class of 2023) with degrees in both Spanish and history. They are currently working in Spanish medical interpreting in the Portland area. She hopes to continue her higher education eventually in either early childhood education or continue studying Spanish.
