Purlin Horizons Value Tree – A Foundation for Leadership & Service
Specific to my post earlier today about the core values that define Purlin Horizons—the SMART SHIFT Values—which serve as my foundation in leadership and business. These values—Faith, Family, Trust, Service, Stewardship, and Excellence—are deeply rooted in how I operate, much like the strong tree that represents them. This reminded me of The Go-Giver, a powerful book by Bob Burg and John David Mann that shifts the traditional mindset of success from getting to giving. The book’s Five Laws of Stratospheric Success emphasizes that true success comes from providing value, serving others, and leading with generosity—a philosophy that aligns perfectly with how I approach business relationships and leadership. For those who haven’t read it, The Go-Giver is worth referencing because the principles are simple yet transformational: 📌 The Law of Value – Your worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment. 📌 The Law of Compensation – The more people you serve, the more valuable you become. 📌 The Law of Influence – Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place others’ interests first. 📌 The Law of Authenticity – The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself. 📌 The Law of Receptivity – The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving. Just as a tree grows stronger by extending its roots and providing shade for others, businesses and leaders grow stronger by focusing on serving others, building trust, and creating lasting impact. I’d love to hear—have you read The Go-Giver? Which principle resonates most with you?
