Born and raised in India, Fr. Joash P. Thomas served as a U.S. political consultant and lobbyist before pivoting to global human rights advocacy. Now based in the Toronto area, he holds a master’s degree in Political Management from The George Washington University and holds two master’s degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary in Christian Leadership and Theology. An ordained Priest in the Diocese of St. Anthony, Fr. Joash is also the author of the widely-read book, The Justice of Jesus. He also serves as Instructor in Public Theology, Peace & Justice at St. Stephen’s University (Canada). Greg Garrett
Dr. Greg Garrett is the author of 30 books of fiction, nonfiction, and spiritual autobiography. He is the Carole McDaniel Hanks Professor of Literature and Culture at Baylor University, and the Canon Theologian at the American Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Paris, France. Greg is a seminary-trained lay preacher in the Episcopal Church who has preached across the United States and Europe, has offered the gathering sermon for the Academy of Homiletics, and has appeared on the national preaching show, Day One. He lives with his wife Jeanie and daughters Lily and Sophia in Austin, Texas, where he is a member of the historically Black St. James Episcopal Church, who taught him to preach justice and reconciliation.

Timothy Peoples
Rev. Timothy Peoples became Wilshire’s senior pastor in January 2023 after serving five years as senior minister at Emerywood Baptist Church in High Point, North Carolina. He was a pastoral resident at Wilshire from 2015 to 2017. A native of Jones, Oklahoma, Timothy received a BA in religious studies from Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan, a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University School of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. The focus of his doctoral work was biblical interpretation and proclamation, and his dissertation was titled, “The Perceived Ethos and its Effect on Rhetoric and Relationship.” Timothy is married to Valerie Lott, and they have two amazing Old English Sheepdogs, Frankie and Cardozo. Jamie P. Washam
The Rev. Dr. Jamie P. Washam pastors the First Baptist Church in America, in Providence, Rhode Island. The church remains committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ and Roger Williams’ founding vision of soul liberty. A native Texan, Rev. Washam earned degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, Harvard Divinity School, and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She was ordained an American Baptist minister through the Samuel Stillman Association 2001. She makes her home with her family in Rhode Island. Prior to pastoring in Providence, she served churches in Chicago, Illinois and Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She was president of American Baptist Churches of Wisconsin in 2013-2014. Since January 2020 she has served as the elected president of the American Baptist Home Mission Society. As an agent of God's love in the Universe, she considers it an honor and joy to follow in the way of Jesus in the church gathered by Roger Williams.
