Lou Ann Barton was born in Fort Worth in 1954 and became a defining voice of the Austin blues scene. In September 1977 she joined the Triple Threat Revue alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan and W.C. Clark, stayed on as primary vocalist when the group became Double Trouble in 1978, and then left in November 1979, just before the band reached global fame.
