Our environments do shape our health, yet most attempts to capture such data is mixed in with the assumption that government programs should get more involve in our own pursuit of health. In this article, Jared Rhoads challenges this assumption by arguing how the study of so-called social-determinants of health should instead be used to empower individual choice.
