Someone came at Jon hot. Furious. Loud. Probably unfair.

And Jon did what most reasonable people do. He got nice. He apologized. He gave away the store to make it stop.

It got worse.

The more he caved the harder the client pushed. By the end of the call Jon could hear it. The client had lost respect for him. Not because Jon made a mistake. Because Jon handed him his spine to make the noise stop.
