Often we hear these 'buzz words' in relation to decolonising the institutions that collect and store First Nations objects. Some of these buzz words include, cultural safety, co-designing, staffing re-structures, etc. Not to say that these methods of decolonising institutions aren't relevant or useful. But to highlight that sometimes using a buzzword and slapping it on a project or initiative takes away from the true value and aims behind it. Sometimes a buzz words takes away from an opportunity to educate and elevate the voices and work of First Nations artists and those working in the public sector.
