Daniel Doc Jacobs is a 31-year-old medically retired Navy Corpsman. He served eight years and two months in the United States Navy. In 2005, Doc was in Iraq on deployment when he was injured by an I.E.D. (improvised explosive device). After two years of intensive physical, mental, and spiritual recovery, Doc was one of the few amputees to return to the Fleet Marine Force for the Navy. In addition to his naval career, Doc is an accomplished athlete. He has completed 17 marathons, played on the US Paralympic Sitting Volleyball team, and tried out for LA Dodgers, the Chicago White Sox, and the Detroit Tigers, with the hopes of becoming a professional baseball player.
