Dinah's Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie recipe:

1 1/2 cup sifted flour, 1teaspoon soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 cup shortening, 3/4 cup white sugar, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 2eggs, 1teaspoon hot water,2 cups oatmeal, 1 teaspoon vanilla. Sift flour,add soda and salt and sift. Cream fat and add sugars. Mix and beat in eggs, add other ingredients and mix well. Drop by spoonful's on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
