Season 1
understanding the mind of "that girl"
Explicit
This episode has a brand new, more structured format that I am super excited about! I investigate an ongoing social media trend, explore its possible benefits and consequence, and attempt to uncover how it may apply to more people than just its target audience. To construct this episode, I compiled 3 different interviews, some commentary analysis, my personal poetry, and some light humor.video coming soon!
the fear of failure
In this episode, Fiona and I discuss the possibility of "failing" in life and how the thought of it hinders our ability to pursue challenges. We talk about self-doubt and imposter syndrome and share our strategies for manipulating our brains into believing in ourselves. This episode is perfect for anyone in their early 20s who can't help but compare themself to the seemingly tons of young people who have already achieved "success".
growing up with social media
In this episode, Maddie and I talk about how social media affected us growing up and ponder how it may be affecting younger gen Zers. We have lots of laughs reminiscing on the posts we made as pre-teens and the apps we used in the early days :)
engaging in political conversations
In this episode, I talk about how and why you should approach political discussions even when you're not an expert. I allow myself to speak candidly as I explore hard-hitting topics such as 'political correctness', 'cancel culture', and idolatry. I appreciate you sticking with me as I attempt to articulate my thoughts on the matter!
creating art without an audience
In this episode, Sebastian and I discuss our frustrations as young creatives who lack an audience to create it for and why we create it anyway. We illustrate the burden of pursuing a creative career in our modern society as well as the opportunities it holds! I use the words of Bob Dylan as well as his old friend, Patti Smith, to guide us through our discussion. approaching life with acceptance, embracing fear, and living for yourself
In this episode, Kayleanna and I compare our very different approaches to life. Kayleanna explains how she lives such a care-free life by focusing on her own wants and needs and teaches me how to loosen up a bit.
treating platonic relationships the same as romantic relationships
In this episode, Maddie and I recount and reminisce on our 7+ year best friendship. We discuss how we built a strong foundation for our relationship and explain the work we continually put in to maintain our bond.
dealing with roommates and making friends in college
With just a few months until we move apart, I sit down with my estranged roommate Nora to talk about our experience living together, what works for us, and what doesn't. We also talk about the challenges of making solid friends after high school and attempt to offer some advice.
figuring out what the heck you want to do with your life
I sit down with Fiona, a recent high school grad, to discuss how one should go about understanding their wants and needs in life as a young adult. We compare her perspective to my own, as a recent college grad, and offer some of our own advice on the matter.Additionally, we discuss the obstacles and benefits of pursuing a career in the arts as well as some tips for self care.
