Our circumstances do not reign supreme; God does. It might feel like our life situations come at us with powers to define, whether through promotion or destruction. One person gets a raise and is filled with happiness and hope; another is let go and is shaded by struggle and despair. Yet in both situations there is the God who creates, rules, rescues, sustains, directs, judges, loves, and continually shows up. His voice alone possesses the power to define ultimately and accurately. This good and beautiful God is the one who “does not faint or grow weary,” whose “understanding is unsearchable,” and who blesses those who turn to and rely upon him daily.
