God gives great gifts—his Spirit, salvation, the Bible, the Church, etc. It’s widely acknowledged that these gifts are part and parcel of the Christian experience. But what if God were to withhold one or more of them from us or to ask us to give some or all of them up? Would we willingly do so? Or is our faith in God really more about the gifts he gives?
