Good afternoon. North Carolina. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside right now and you'll feel May weather showing up two months early. We're sitting at 62 degrees after a mild overnight low of 55. That trace of rain we picked up — about six hundredths of an inch — is already gone. Dense fog blanketed parts of the Piedmont and mountains this morning, dropping visibility to a quarter mile in spots. Made for a tricky commute. That fog should lift by late morning as sunshine punches through. Once it clears? Beautiful afternoon ahead with mostly sunny skies. Highs today reach the mid to upper 70s statewide. Charlotte and Raleigh both top out near 78 degrees — about 31 degrees above normal for early March. Head west toward Asheville and Here comes 74.
