EP 4 THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA DURING THE PANDEMIC
In this fourth epsiode, we're going to talk about social media's impact during the pandemic. Today's interview guest is Dr Zahid Butt who has been studying the impact of social media during COVID-19. Dr Zahid Butt is a physician epidemiologist and an Assistant professor in the School of Public Health and Health Systems at the University of Waterloo. His research applies a 'syndemic' framework to examine interrelationships between epidemics of infectious diseases, social disparities, co-morbidities, and substance use, using epidemiological, statistical, spatial and machine learning methods. He is also one of the authors of "What social media told us in the time of COVID-19: a scoping review".
