Peter Bogdanovich Reappreciation Part 1

New Film Historians by Chase Carson and William Rafter

Episode notes

This is the first episode of our "New Film Historians" podcast, where we will be doing a re-appreciation of the most influential works from Peter Bogdanovich-one of the most talented, yet forgotten about Director from the early 1970's. His films "Targets" "Last Picture Show" and "Paper Moon" received critical success and were considered landmarks of the next "genius" generation of film-makers. Bogdanovich's work didn't just come in the from of movies though, he was also a dedicated film historian who authored many books about films and the people who acted in them. Unfortunately, he passed away in early 2022, but he left behind a fascinating life story-from a friendship with Orson Welles to a brief cameo in "IT: Chapter Two."
