Good morning. New York. I'm Aaron Jolly. That gray ceiling overhead? It's the leading edge of a warm front pushing north from the Mid-Atlantic. Cold air from a departing high pressure system is getting overrun by moisture streaming up the coast. The result. A messy wintry mix spreading across New York today. In the next 24 hours. Right now we're sitting at 32 degrees under overcast skies. That overnight low dipped to 27 degrees. But here's the twist — temperatures will actually rise as precipitation arrives. Down in the New York City metro, snow begins around 9 A.M. It quickly mixes with and changes to rain. Highs reach 41 degrees. Tonight stays damp with rain continuing until about 4 A.M.
