And it's bringing wind that'll test every loose object you forgot to tie down. Winds are already howling, northern New Mexico sees gusts to 40 miles an hour through mid-morning. Central areas? Peak around noon with 30 to 40 mile an hour gusts. The Sacramento Mountains? High Wind Warning until early afternoon — gusts could hit 60. That's strong enough to snap branches and knock out power. Here's the dangerous part. Those winds are combining with humidity dropping to 5 to 10 percent this afternoon. Red Flag Warnings cover northern and central New Mexico, while any spark spreads fast.
