Episode 6: The Curious & The Unexplained - Part Two - Where Did This Conversation Go?

We were supposed to be continuing our conversation about the unexplained… And we did. Sort of. 😂 In this episode, Dad and I find ourselves wandering down a few more mysterious rabbit holes, from Stonehenge to the fascinating power of trees and whether there really is something healing about being amongst them. We briefly venture into the world of the Illuminati, before somehow ending up in much more personal territory, including Dad revealing that he started smoking surprisingly young… something that genuinely shocked me! And then, because apparently no conversation between us is stays on topic for very long... we somehow end up discussing tequila, questionable decisions and (little warning) vomit. 🤢😂 So, no… this isn’t a perfectly structured exploration of the unexplained. It’s two generations, one conversation, a lot of curiosity, a few rabbit holes and absolutely no idea where we’re going to end up next. The Curious & the Unexplained — Part One Important tea related information.. You may notice, at various points throughout this episode, the unmistakable sound of dad putting his cup of tea down. it is simply dad contributing to the sounds effects department.. over a cup of tea... quite literally What happens when a conversation over a cup of tea takes a few unexpected turns… and suddenly you’re talking about numbers, coincidences, myths, legends, folklore and the things we just can’t quite explain? In this episode, we dive into the curious, the strange and the unexplained, exploring some of the stories, patterns and ideas that have fascinated people for generations. From the meaning we give to numbers and repeated patterns, to ancient myths, folklore and those wonderfully weird moments that make you stop and think, “Okay… what are the chances of that?” Is it coincidence? Is there something more to it? Or are our brains simply very good at finding patterns and meaning? There are no scripts and definitely no expert answers here... just a genuine conversation between a dad and daughter, following the rabbit holes wherever they lead. Episode Four: Music, a surprisingly lengthly conversation about Cheese & New Chapters

This episode we have Summer, my little sister and Dad's third daughter, joining us for a chat. As Dad puts it Summer has the attention span of a Goldfish, so naturally the conversation goes off on a few… tangents. We chat about a bit of everything, music, parenting, starting a new chapter as Summer gets ready to move on to secondary school, and, of course, a surprisingly lengthy conversation about cheese. It’s one of those episodes where we didn’t really know where the conversation was going to go, but that’s kind of the point of Monkey & Me. Welcome to the very first episode of Monkey & Me! In this introductory episode, we introduce ourselves, explain why we decided to start the podcast, and chat about what you can expect from future episodes. Monkey & Me is all about honest conversations across generations. As a daughter and her dad, we'll be sharing stories, discussing modern life, reminiscing about the past, and exploring the topics that get people talking. In this bonus episode, Dad and I answer another listener question and, as always, one question somehow turns into several completely different conversations. 😂 We chat about our favourite books as children compared with the books we love as adults, how language has evolved, and whether people even talk properly anymore! Dad also tells me about one of his favourite books he’s currently reading… although getting him to actually pronounce the title is a whole different story. 😂📚 There are a few laughs, a few differences between our generations, and plenty of opinions along the way.
