Today's bringing record-challenging heat across Missouri. Kansas City could hit 85 degrees this afternoon, flirting with the 1955 record of 86. St. Louis eyes 83. Springfield reaches the low 80s. These are July numbers in early March, pushed north by Gulf moisture and gusty south winds to 30 miles an hour. But This warmth comes with a price. A cold front is barreling toward us. And the atmosphere is primed for severe weather. We're talking about massive instability, powerful wind shear. And all the ingredients for dangerous storms. The catch?
