Good morning. Minnesota. I'm Aaron Jolly.
Step outside right now and you're feeling mid-30s. But hold onto that number, because by this afternoon? We're hitting the low to mid-60s. That's our warmest day of the year so far — running about 20 degrees above normal for early March.
Southwest winds are doing all the work, shoving warm air straight statewide. Down in the Twin Cities, you'll peak at 63 degrees by mid-afternoon. Southern Minnesota near Rochester hits 62. Push north toward Duluth and you're still looking at a comfortable 53 degrees. Not bad for March.
Tonight stays mild. Partly cloudy with lows in the mid-40s across the metro and southern areas. Northern Minnesota drops to 36. West winds around 10 miles an hour.
