We’re back with more movie Zorro for Zorroary. It’s not the first Zorro movie, not even the first Zorro talkie, so while it’s no first, The Mark of Zorro (1940) is a reel good time at el cine (“the cinema” for you non-Spanish speakers). Mark of Zorro was the 4th Zorro adaptation, 6th if you count the serials, so we also get into the notion of superhero fatigue, which we learn is a phenomenon nearly as old as el cine itself. This Zorro has all the good stuff, swords, masks, love, and those majestic behooved equine angels, our good friends los caballos (“the horses”).
