Jordan Wommack is a comedian, actor, and the expert on spotting when a guy is clearly in a monkey suit in the hit Tubi box-office-blast of a movie, “Primate.” We met by coincidence last year at a party hosted by our mutual buddy bro Ben Taylor. We reconnected at Easter celebrating eggs and decided it was go-time to do a pod. In this episode, we talk about evil babies with knives, white girls named Fatima, the cults we’ve been part of, and defending phrases like “creamy” and “that’s beastiality, bro.” Just uh…listen in. Sam Wiens is a director and writer that I met by coincidence last year on the set of “Need No Man.” While filming, we performed some goofy impressions and discussed deep Marvel + Star Wars lore. I knew I needed to have him on the pod because…goofy impressions and nerd talk? That’s essentially all we do on Met by Coincidence. Daria Good is an actress, producer, and future Oscar winning star of a cool detective noir film. We met by coincidence in college at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts over four years ago. When I first met her, I knew right away she would lead our class – and I know one day she will probably lead the world. Which will be awesome. In this episode, we discuss crazy roommate stories, what events can lead to becoming an artist, we create a story to a play, and what Olympic events we would absolutely DESTROY in. Jingbei Bai is a filmmaker, actor, and passionate crusader for societal change. Charlie is my childhood cat who I met by coincidence around ten years ago. While usually very talkative in his native cat language, "meowenise," he stays pretty quiet in this mini-episode. José Valle Jr. is a director and all-around filmmaker who I met by coincidence on a film set about a year ago. Between takes, José and I bonded over our shared time in Iowa (and the mutual understanding that nothing beats Casey’s pizza.) In this episode, we dive into spooky ghost-vampire stories, the difference between “my film” and “our film,” the lessons film school can’t teach you, and why representation on screen matters so much. Alexia Molinari-Giorgi is a makeup artist in the entertainment industry who I met by coincidence on a film set about a year and a half ago. She ended up being one of the biggest inspirations behind starting this podcast — not just because she’s an incredibly talented artist, but because she’s genuinely one of the coolest people to talk to. Meeting people like Alexia made me want to reconnect with the fascinating people I’ve crossed paths with over the years… and now, a year later, here we are! In this episode, we talk about working on the Michael Jackson biopic, swimming with whales, navigating the chaos of film sets, and spooky ghost encounters.
