(Recorded on Nov. 4 2022) Long time, no talk! Join Brett, Fr. Jason and special guest, Fr. Alex, to revisit the situation of the war in Ukraine as of early November, 2022. In addition to discussing the implications of Ukraine's significant battlefield gains made in early September, Putin's own escalation through mobilization, and how things will proceed as winter sets in; we also consider these developments in lieu of US domestic politics on the eve of the 2022 midterm elections. As Republicans are on the cusp of massive congressional victories (understandably so), what can we expect of US support of Ukraine's existential struggle in the coming months and years? We broach the topic regarding the phenomenon of 'Putinophilia' within some sectors of conservatism in the West, not to mention some groups of fellow traditional Catholics. Perhaps there could be a genuinely 'Catholic approach' on this war that actually takes into consideration the perspectives of fellow Ukrainian Catholics both within and outside of Ukraine?
(Recorded on 06/28/2022): Fr. Jason and Brett get up to speed on the situation in Ukraine as the war begins its fifth month and the developing perception of the war from American perspectives. Special attention is given to Fr. Jason's most recent trip to Ukraine in early June and his observations on the ground there regarding the social, political, and spiritual ramifications of the war for the Ukrainian people.
Join Fr. Jason and Brett for a Memorial Day recording as they discuss the dramatic developments which followed the SCOTUS leak at the beginning of May. The hysteria which followed is but a 'warm up' for what we can expect subsequent to the official ruling next month (June). The diabolic injustice of abortion cannot merely be solved through bureaucratic and political means, but must be countered with a solidly incarnational faith in Christ and the victory gained through his paschal mystery.
