Luke: To the Least, the Last, & the Lost - Luke 7.31-35

Some people rejected John the Baptist because he was too intense and restrictive. Others rejected Jesus because He ate and drank with sinners. In Luke 7:31-35, Jesus exposes a deeper issue: stubborn hearts will always find a reason not to listen. We do the same. We dismiss correction, resist accountability, and judge others by our own preferences. Some drift toward legalism. Others hide behind “freedom.” Both can become excuses to avoid surrender. Jesus offers something better. Hebrews 4:15 reminds us that He understands our weakness, yet calls us out of self-rule and into wisdom. “The fear of the Lord is wisdom” (Job 28:28), and wisdom is proven by its fruit (Luke 7:35). This message is an invitation to humility, teachability, and the kind of freedom that grow ...
