Joel van Ameringen is the son of a Holocaust survivor and congregational leader of Beth El (House of God), the first Assemblies of God Messianic Congregation in New Zealand.

Located in Tauranga, Beth El (www.bethel.org.nz) maintains an Hebraic expression of respecting and honouring diversity in expression within the body of all Messianic and Christian believers.
