Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Kentucky Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd.
Kentucky just split in half overnight. Eastern Kentucky woke up to snow showers and a Winter Weather Advisory that runs until 7 PM. Counties like Harlan, Floyd. And Pike are staring down 1 to 2 inches of snow.. With wind gusts to 30 miles an hour creating sudden whiteouts. If you're traveling east of I19 degrees today, slow way down. Bridges and overpasses stay icy well into the afternoon.
The rest of us? Dry but **brutal**. Louisville and Lexington bottomed out at 21 degrees, with wind chills near 19 degrees this morning. You'll climb to 34 by 1 PM, then crash back to 22 by 4 AM.
