The real show kicks off this afternoon when a powerful cold front slams into Kansas, bringing severe weather and a dramatic temperature crash. Northeast Kansas faces the highest threat today. Thunderstorms roll through this morning before 11 A.M., with a 70 percent chance of storms packing gusty winds and small hail. Highs reach 73 degrees, but south winds gust to 32 miles an hour. Tonight's the main event. Storms fire up again between 7 P.M. and 2 A.M. and these pack a punch — damaging winds, heavy rain. And possible tornadoes.
