Maybe you can just quit being a super hero. Maybe you can just settle down and get married to your childhood friend, have sex that destroys every flat surface in a hotel room, and let the military take care of things. I'm sure that would be find as long as you don't keep getting vision of the future that say how bad things will go if you do that.

Oh and the gender swap thing comes back as a plot point.
