And now the pressure gradient is cranking up gusts statewide. This is the kind of wind that rattles patio furniture and makes steering feel like a workout. Down in the Treasure Valley, you're waking up to 42 degrees and sunshine. Looks innocent enough. But by this afternoon, northwest winds gust to 35 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 30 degrees under clouds. Tuesday rebounds to 46 with partly sunny skies. Eastern Idaho gets the worst of it. Sunny today with a high near 54 degrees, but southwest winds scream at 14 to 35 miles an hour. Gusts could hit 48. That's strong enough to make high-profile vehicles tough to handle.
