If you are not competitive in life, you are bound to fail. Simple. The moment you do not feel you should have to compete for anything worth having, you will fail because that is not reality. Whether you are dating, seeking better career opportunities, or finding ways to empower and nurture your emotional and personal wellbeing, just know that you are not alone. You will be challenged to be better, to rise to the occasion, due to competition. Self Care

It is necessary to prioritize self care because without it, you are bound to fail. Rather, success is always achieved when optimal self preservation is applied. From hygiene, manscaping, therapy, and more, the Gentlemen of HOTT pulled no punches in telling how they keep their mind, bodies, and spirits aligned. It is a episode full of self care gems and laughs.

Know Your Worth

When you know your worth, you do not compromise. Further, you do not apologize for knowing your worth. Rather, communicate fluidly with the people you are in relationships with (intimate, familial, professional) who you are, your principles & rationale, and how you both can align your intentions and actions for a mutual benefit. The goal within a relationship is establish how you all can be the best that you are, together and as individuals. This episode is about how to establish clear boundaries and understanding on the basis of respect, honesty, discipline, and communication/effective listening.

Accountability and Emotional Intelligence

There is tension in the culture in regards to there being a lack of accountability. Whether it is among Black Women, Black Men, the System, whomever or whatever, there has been a call for people to step up and take responsibility for their actions; however, that cannot and will not happen if people lack emotional intelligence. If they do not understand and seek to master that, they will not take accountability. Let's discuss how to do so, by outlining and applying emotional intelligence.

Consistent Inconsistency & The Flags

You are dating, getting to know someone, but you do not want to be pressed or come off as too aggressive or thirsty? Be consistently inconsistent. It is important to establish a healthy balance of engagement and wonder throughout the duration of your relationships to keep yourself and the person as honest and committed as possible, to determine whether it is something you both want. Plus, when people do not act accordingly while dating and getting to know, you can assess them and award them their respective flag (ranging from 'Green' it's a Go to 'Black' send your ass back, to the streets!). Let's have fun and talk about it, shall we?

Dating & CCU

Now that we have reviewed the stages of dating leading to a fruitful relationship in the season premiere, let's go back to the first stage then build, dating. When you are dating, you are getting to know someone to gauge their attractiveness, competence, and healthiness beyond the surface. How do we achieve that? We do so with the CCU: Consistency, Communication, & Understanding. If you don't know what the hell we mean, or how to achieve it, tune in and found out.

The Stages: From Dating to Relationships

We apologize for the 9 month lag, but we had to birth something new. We made a slight pivot with our content focus to discuss Lifestyle, Relationships, and Self Improvement, so we begin this first episode of Season III discussing, clarifying one of the biggest topics we all struggle with at times, relationships. What are the stages leading to a fulfilling relationship? What is dating? What is courtship? What are the rules in regards to both? How do you know you are ready for a relationship? How do you know you are in a toxic one? How important is communication and reciprocity when getting to know someone? We dive into it, with more to come with the content this season! 'Comin From Where I'm From'

'Comin' from where I'm from' is the Season II Finale that pays homage to all of the lessons we learned in the last thirty years of life and what we hope to accomplish in the next thirty. With the whole world of opportunity in front of us, we had to reflect and understand where we came from to appreciate where we are going. We hope you enjoyed this season as much as we enjoyed you. When I Grow Up...

As a podcast and brand, one of our goals were to implement community service and engagement into the fold. As an episode or an off the record practice, we wanted to connect with young Black men who may need our guidance, as much as we seek understanding and wisdom from them, to learn how we can best fortify a community of innovators, leaders, and upstanding Black men. Thus, we visited Booker T. Washington High School on the West Side of Atlanta to create that foundation.
