The formerly enslaved Mary Fields (aka "Stagecoach Mary") worked as the groundskeeper at a convent in the Old West before receiving a donated stagecoach. With it, Fields secured a postal service contract to deliver the U.S. mail, unfailingly protecting her route from wildlife and bandits and becoming beloved by locals in Cascade, Montana.
