Michael Tubbs made history in 2016 when he was elected mayor of his hometown Stockton, CA at 26, the youngest mayor of a major US city ever. While mayor, Tubbs started the SEED program, the nation's first municipal-level basic income pilot. Its success lead to Mayors of a Guaranteed Income, a national initiative where over 40 mayors across the country advocate for the same.
