What Makes Someone Friendship Material?
From a Girl's Girl by Didi Masita
Episode notes
We have boyfriend lists. Husband lists. Deal-breakers. Non-negotiables. But have you ever stopped to think about what you actually want in a friend?
As we get older, making friends becomes more complicated. Proximity and shared interests might have been enough when we were younger, but adult friendships often require something deeper.
In this episode, I talk about being more intentional about the friendships we build and ask:
Are you friends because you're genuinely compatible or because you enjoy the activity that brought you together?
I explore friendships standards and non-negotiables, friendships built on alcohol and partying, trauma bonded friendships, the role of shared interests and proximity, and whether loneliness can cause us to lower our standards.
